Founder Sabrina Schlenker—is a former division 1 athlete turned entrepreneur. The HairCan was driven by her middle school dream to create a trash can for stray hair in the shower. Growing sharing a bathroom with her mom and curly haired sister was a nightmare. Sabrina brought this idea up at the dinner table and when she went to college she entered a startup competition where she won $4,000 to start creating the HairCan. 40 prototypes later, blood, sweat, and tears went into creating this product and HairCan is now available for purchase.

How it all started
During my senior year of college, I decided to enter a startup competition at my school at the last minute. I was very busy at the time due to being a student-athlete, but I knew this was my opportunity to make HairCan happen. I had the idea for HairCan since I was in middle school and decided to go for it. Right after I gave my pitch, I sprinted to the bathroom to change for track practice. It was a long day, but it was well worth it because I ended up winning $4,000 at the competition, which provided me with the funds to get started on creating HairCan!
CrowdFunding
Starting a business is no easy task and it is definitely not cheap developing a new product. I ended up launching a kickstarter campaign where I raised over $46,000 in order to fund my business to start the production process!
